Main Entrance
The main entrance to RACH is directly behind the building site for the new Baird Family Hospital. Look for the giraffes and you will find us. There is no ‘main’ reception desk at RACH, instead each ward or department has its own reception. Volunteers with our partner charity The Archie Foundation are stationed in the main foyer area during busy times to help direct and guide visitors around the hospitals.
Reception Desks
Outpatients reception is on the ground floor – past the cafe and through the double doors. All other reception areas can be accessed by using the stairs (on the left hand side, immediately before the cafe area) or the lifts which are located beside the large double height windows facing out towards the Baird and the helicopter landing pad.

Lower Ground Floor: Archie Offices, Specialist Nurses Offices, Craig Research Unit & Domestic Offices
Ground Floor: Main Archie Office, Outpatient Department, Occupational Therapy Department, Pharmacy, X-Ray Department, Paediatric Assessment Unit (P.A.U) and Emergency Department (ED) – Access through ED Entrance
First Floor: Day Case Unit, High Dependency Unit (HDU), Therapy Centre (including Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy), Archie Family Centre, Theatres & Chapel and Chaplain
Second Floor: Medical Ward, Surgical Ward & Press & Journal Parents Media Lounge
Third Floor: Office Suites, Seminar Rooms & Aberdeen University
Food & Drink In and Near To RACH
There are a number of outlets serving food and drink in and near to RACH. General opening times are noted below, however these can be subject to change (click on the image below to open in larger PDF format).
Meal Vouchers
Meal vouchers can be purchased (so you can eat a meal with your child) from the Pink Zone Cafe or from our charity partner The Archie Foundation‘s office in the foyer area of RACH. Meal vouchers are priced at £2.65 and they must be bought before 2pm for meals served on the same day. Please speak to ward staff before purchasing as you may be eligible for a free meal.
