Outpatients

Overview

75% of all patients attending Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital are seen as Outpatients. The Outpatients Department is located on the Ground Floor – enter RACH through the main entrance and turn to the left, passing the cafe. The Outpatients reception desk is through the double doors (which are nearly always open) and is located to the right.

Outpatients clinics cover a wide range of disciplines including:

Audiology

Orthoptics

What to do if you cannot attend

Firstly, please make every effort to bring your child to all scheduled outpatient appointments. Even seemingly minor follow-up appointments and assessment clinics are vitally important to ensure healthy child development.

If  you are unable to bring your child to their appointment or want to cancel their appointment, please let us know by telephoning the number on your appointment letter / card. Your help in this will mean fewer wasted appointments and help us to keep waiting times down.

Please be aware that if you do not attend an appointment and you have not notified us then the individual who made the referral will be informed. If for any reason, your appointment has to be cancelled by the clinic, we will let you know of an alternative date by letter or by telephone.
