Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital has a large and highly skilled surgical team delivering a wide range of services including:
Surgical Ward
Many children will receive their surgery at the Day Case Unit. This means that they will not require to stay overnight in the hospital either before or after their surgery. Children who are admitted as inpatients (i.e. staying overnight in hospital either before or after surgery) will be cared for in Surgical Ward or the High Dependency Unit. Children requiring surgery will often visit the X-Ray Department, where detailed images will be taken to help surgeons plan and manage their treatment plan.
