Little Journey’ is a free app, to help your child prepare for their blood test at home, before their hospital visit.
If your child is coming to hospital for a blood test, please download the Little Journey App, type ‘Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital’, follow the on-screen prompts, then select:
‘Coming for a blood test‘
‘Take a tour’ will let your child enjoy a virtual tour of the children’s hospital with animated characters showing them the rooms they will visit, what will happen and who they will meet.
The app includes ‘bite-sized’ information articles about blood tests for caregivers and will help to answer other queries about the hospital visit.
There are fun distraction games and relaxation activities to help your child stay calm, including some one-handed activities they can do during their blood test.
Older children can choose which activities they would like to try in ‘MyZone’.
